Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Envy 7855
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I set up my new Envy 7855 printer. I ran the fax setup routine. I ran the fax test and it passed. I printed a page, put it on the flatbed scanner, and faxed it to the HP faxback service successfully. I received the return fax from the faxback service successfully. The printer is faxing properly.

I installed the HP Universal Fax Driver. (Six times, so far.) I typed a document and printed to the HP Universal Fax Driver. It opened a window asking me to select the printer, and I selected the Envy 7855 (adding it to the printers and devices list at the same time). It opened a window asking for the number to fax to. I selected the HP faxback service number and clicked the FAX button.

It opened a window saying PROCESSING. Occasionally, it will flash PRINTER BUSY, very briefly, then goes back to PROCESSING. I have let it do that for over an hour. It does nothing else. Help. My previous HP 6970 faxed just fine from my computer. I hate that it died.

@IAmBobbo, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Looks like a driver issue to me as faxing works from the printer.

I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2) Select your HP Printer

3) Select Uninstall

4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”

😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab

9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10) Select Ok

11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12) Close Devices and Printers.

Use this link to download and install the new driver. Configure the printer and try faxing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

After following all of those steps, the printer is still doing exactly the same thing. It says "processing" with brief blips of "printer busy."

I downloaded HP Smart and HP Universal Fax Driver from the link you gave me. If I should have downloaded a printer specific driver instead, tell me and I will do it over.

@IAmBobbo

Yes, download the printer-specific driver and try faxing.

Keep me posted.

I installed the printer specific driver, but it is still doing exactly the same thing. It says "processing" with brief blips of "printer busy." Nothing else.
