Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Is the ability to send faxes to email GONE now? The Digital Fax feature cannot be located in the HP Smart App and I do not see where I can download the OLD HP Printer Asst app any longer.  Please HELP!

Hi,

The feature is not gone, but only available for select models, Fax to Email is not a feature available for an HP Officejet Pro 6970 Series printer.

 

You may install the HP Full Feature Software and set up HP Digital Fax to receive incoming faxes to a a folder on your PC.

Please follow HP Easy Start below, during the Software Selection step be sure to select the HP Basic or Full Feature Driver option and complete the installation:

After completing the installation open the printer icon on your desktop and follow the HP Digital Fax Setup wizard:
