How can I receive a fax on this printer. I have a seperate line for to receive faxes.

To receive a fax on your HP OfficeJet 9012e printer when you have a separate line for faxes, follow these steps:

1. Connect the Phone Cord:
   • Use the phone cord supplied with your printer.
   • Connect one end of the phone cord to the telephone wall jack.
   • Connect the other end to the port labeled “1-LINE” on the back of your HP OfficeJet printer.

Set Up Fax Preferences:

• On the printer control panel, touch the Setup or Menu option.
• Go to Fax Setup and then Basic Fax Setup.
• Set the Auto Answer feature to On.

Configure Rings to Answer:

• In the Fax Setup menu, locate the Rings to Answer setting.
• Set the number of rings to an appropriate value (e.g., 1-2 rings) since you are using a dedicated fax line. This ensures that the printer will quickly answer incoming fax calls.

Verify Fax Settings:

• Ensure the Answer Ring Pattern matches the ring pattern assigned to your fax number (if using a distinctive ring service).

Run a Fax Test:

• On the printer control panel, navigate to Fax Setup.
• Select Fax Tools and then Run Fax Test to verify the setup is correct and ensure the fax line and connections are working properly.

Once set up, the HP OfficeJet 9012e printer will automatically receive incoming faxes on the dedicated fax line and print them as they arrive.
