I was scanning fine and then today when scanning documents that were 'both sides' I got an error message that the first page of the doc was too short to scan both sides. I couldn't get it to scan after that so had to power off and power on. Now it scans again but I cannot figure out where on my computer it is scanning it too. I believe it used to scan to 'documents' (would love to know how to set to 'My Scans') but for now just need to figure out where these scans are going to???
Also, i noticed that there are 2 destinations when printing to the Jet Pro, they are labeled the same, 'HP OfficeJet Pro 6970" (assume 6978 is part of this series) but then one ends with "PCL-3" and the other one with "[551A3B]. Any help with this would be appreciated as well. Why are there 2, can i delete 1, if not, which one should i be printing too?

Hi,
From the HP Software, click on Scan and then on Scan a Document or Photo.
Select the scan shortcut you would like to use and click the More > option in the top-side and select Destination.
Select the required destination where you want to save the scans, as well you may check the Launch Windows Explorer option to launch the folder once the scan completes, then press the disk icon near the shortcut name to save the changes
For the other question, the HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 (PCL3) option is the print queue added by the HP software, and the queue with "[551A3B] is the print queue automatically added by your operating system using WSD.
From the Control Panel select Network & Internet, then select the Network and Sharing Center.
Click on Change Advanced Sharing Settings and uncheck the checkmark next to "Turn on automatic setup of network-connected devices".
Now you may remove the device with "[551A3B], be sure to have the PCL3 option marked as the default printer to be used.

Thanks for your response. This may sound very stupid but I don't know aht you mean about going to the 'JP Software'! I click on 'scan' on the copier/scanner and go from there. I tried opening up 3 icons on my desktop, HP Smart, HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 and HP Print and Scan Doctor and none have a "More>option in the top-side". Don't know if clicking wrong thing or have not found the software to which you refer. Thanks for your continued help....
