Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with my HP M28a printer. When I scan from the HP scan program, the printer scans, but the sheet doesn't appear. It looks like I haven't scanned anything yet. I try adding a page, but it still doesn't appear. Occasionally, but very rarely, a page appears. This happens especially if I try to change the settings, such as from color to black and white scanning, or to automatic mode. It happens completely randomly and not systematically, so I don't think it's a color detection issue.
The printer doesn't report any errors; I've already used HP scan doctor, which didn't detect any anomalies.
Can someone please help me?

@Frangia, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It appears you're experiencing a problem where scanned documents from your HP M28a printer are not appearing in the HP scan program. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:
Update the Printer Software: Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP scan software installed. Visit the HP Support website to check for updates, which might offer improvements or bug fixes that can resolve scanning issues.
Check Connectivity: If your printer is connected via USB or a network, ensure the connection is stable. Unstable connections can cause scanning problems.
Restart Your Devices: Try restarting both your printer and computer. Sometimes a simple restart can help reset connections and resolve intermittent issues.
Test Different Settings: Although you've tried changing settings, it might help to systematically test different scan settings (e.g., resolution, color, file format) to see if any specific setting is causing the issue.
Printer Diagnostics: Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows if you are using a Windows operating system. This free utility helps diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems by performing connectivity checks, driver updates, and other useful functions. You can download it from the HP website.
Check for Error Messages: If there are any error messages appearing on the printer's control panel or in the HP scan program, note them down, as these can guide you towards the specific issue.
Test with Different Software: Try using a different scanning program, such as Windows Fax and Scan or a third-party scanning app, to rule out any issues with the HP scan software.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
