Hello,

 

I did read your article about Gmail security and did create an App Password for my account and configured it in the Email Alerts for my HP OfficeJet 8720:

When I click on "Save and Test" I get the following error:

 

 

 

 

The device could not send the test email message. (emailServerSettingPage-ErrorIncorrectCredentials)
Click "OK" to go back.

I also do get the same error if I try to use port 465 or activate "Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS)".

 

My login credentials including the App Password are 100% correct, cause they also do work in another monitoring program and also a Linux bash script without any problems.

 

Can you please help me to fix that?

Why did you remove my picture? I did blur all privacy data.

 

There is no ".corr" address suffix, the last "m" of  Gmail .com was just not displayed completely by the input field.

 

So everything is filled out correctly and still getting the same error.

Do you have any plan how to fix?

According to the setup data posted by google https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en

 

the smtp server should be smtp-relay.gmail.com

SMTP-Relay is for paying Gsuit customers! I am not.

I am a private gmail end user! And the normal SMTP server with absolutely the same credentials do work in a lot of other scripts and programs to send emails automatically, only not on the OfficeJet!

The example features a setup and Profile environment for G-Mail Two-Step Verification and an App Password for mail.

Client software installed on the Windows 11 system >  Windows Mail, Outlook,  and Thunderbird

Printer > Wired Ethernet connection > Dual Band Network, Manual / Static IP

Printer  > HP OfficeJet Pro 9025

I did it exactly that way, but it still does not work but works in all other scripts and programs with same credentials and settings!

Disappointing.

That Scan to Email works for others does not help when it won't work for you.

Should I run across anything else in my notes that might be relevant, I'll post back.
