HP Recommended

I have a (up to now) very reliable HP Scanjet 200 - today "out of the blue" it scans with a streaky blue background.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software - nix.

Yes I know it is ancient and yes I've had 10 years of excellent service from it but...

There is no alternative machine in the HP range and  there aren't, as far as I can see, any updated drivers.

Do I  move on to an Epson Perfection V39 II - Horrors!

 

What can I do please?
