Hi @SHEENSTINE ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with HP LASERJET PRO MFP M128FN SCANNER ERROR 22. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

May I know

1. Since when are you facing this issue

2. Have you made any changes on your printer post that this issue raised and have you observed any light blinking on the display

The "Scanner Error 22" on HP LaserJet Pro MFP M128FN typically indicates a problem with the scanner mechanism. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Wait for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Check for Physical Obstructions:

  • Make sure there are no physical obstructions in the scanner area. Inspect the scanner glass and the document feeder for any debris or foreign objects.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord.
  • Turn on the printer.

Update Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website and check if there is any firmware update available for your printer model. If yes, download and install it.

Check Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables connected to the printer are secure, including the USB or network cables.

Test with Another Application:

  • Try scanning from a different application to see if the issue is related to the scanning software.

Reinstall the Scanner Drivers:

  • Uninstall the existing scanner drivers from your computer.
  • Download the latest scanner drivers from the official HP website.
  • Install the new drivers and restart your computer.

Perform a Factory Reset:

  • Note: This will reset all settings to factory defaults.
  • Press the Setup button on the printer's control panel.
  • Navigate to "Service," then "Restore Defaults," and select "Restore Settings."

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
