After upgrade to Win10 I can't perforom scan from the device control panel.
The computer connected and recognised by device (Picture1),
however later on the error message (Picture2) appears
The scan can be performed from the computer, so it looks that all physical connections are proper.
Thank you in advance

Thanks for getting back to me @Boris-K.
I checked with a co-worker and the Manage to Scan option should be available to scan to the computer. So it doesn't look like the software installed properly since you are missing that option. You do have the option for 'Manage Fax Settings' which is available.
I have provided you with some steps for unlocking the Hidden Administrator Account and installing the printer on this account to see if that will help with this situation.
Disconnect the USB cable and run the uninstall again: Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows).
Note: Don't connect the USB cable in until prompted during the install.
- Go to your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD.
- CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'.
- Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:yes and hit enter.
- Next, close CMD and restart your computer.
- When your computer comes on log into the new account that should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
- If your computer automatically logs into your account after the restart then go to your start menu and click the arrow beside 'shutdown' and choose 'switch user'. Now log into the Administrator account we just unlocked.
- Under the Administrator account, install the printer software: HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2640 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers.
- Test the printer.
- To turn off the Admin account start back at step 1 and type in net user administrator /active:no.
If you are still having this issue, it may be the User Profile. Create a new User and try installing the printer on that Account.
- Open User Accounts by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking User Accounts and Family Safety (or clicking User Accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking User Accounts.
- Click Manage another account.
- Click Create a new account.
- Install the printer on that account.
Let me know if that resolves the issue. Thanks!

Good Morning @Boris-K,
Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that you are unable to scan from the printer to the computer after upgrading to Windows 10. I would like to help you out with this issue today.
Try to temporarily turn off any Firewalls in case they are interfering.
Try the steps in this document: USB Scanner Connection Error (Windows).
Let me know the results of the Print and Scan Doctor.
You can click the "Accept as Solution" button and the "Thumbs Up" for my efforts. Please let me know how this goes. Have a great day!

Dear Gemini02,
Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately any from the performed steps didn't help.
I did:
1. Tried with disabled firewall
2. Performed steps from Scan Doctor
3. Replaced the USB cable and changed USB input on PC (note - other operations like scan operated from the PC works properly. So it doesn't look HW issue, but Itried it anyway).
4. Reinstalled new driver dowloaded from here:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Deskjet-Ink-Advantage-2640-All-in-One-Printer-ser... (DJ2640_188.exe 108.9 MB file).
I will appreciate your further help.

Hi @Boris-K,
Make sure the default printer driver is the Deskjet 2645 and not the Class driver from Devices and Printers. Also, the Scan to Computer has to be enabled from the HP Software.
Enable the Scan to Computer setting:
Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
Open the HP software using one of the following methods.
Use the printer icon
Check the apps list
Click Manage Scan to Computer.
If you see the message Scan to Computer is currently not available, skip to the next solution.
If you see the message Scan to Computer is disabled at the top of the window click theEnable button.
Thanks!

Thanks for providing the screen shot @boris_K.
It doesn't look like this software has the option for this model.
Try restarting the computer and the printer and scanning from the printer again.
Let me know if that helps.
Thanks!

Hi Gemini02,
I went first the short way: uninstalled the Printer software and just installed it again without changing the user.
As result "Manage to Scan" still not appears, but not now the required scan from printer control panel works.
I don't know why - because I did it few times already in past, but in any case currently the problem solved.
Thank you a lot for your continuous support.
