HP DeskJet 3632 All-in-One Printer

I bought a refurbished HP Desktop Computer but for some reason/s I am not able to connect to the scanner of my HP Desk jet 3632 Printer I was using with the replaced Desktop computer.

Could someone please help me?

Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve the scanner connection issue with your HP DeskJet 3632 printer on a refurbished HP desktop computer:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

Check Connections:

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or Wi-Fi.
  • If using a USB connection, try a different USB port or cable.
  • If using a wireless connection, ensure both the printer and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Install/Update Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers and software for the HP DeskJet 3632.
  • Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install or update the drivers.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both the printer and the computer.

Use HP Scan and Capture:

  • Download and install the HP Scan and Capture app from the Microsoft Store.
  • Open the app and follow the instructions to scan a document.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP Support website.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix any issues with the scanner.

Check Windows Imaging Acquisition (WIA) Service:

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate Windows Imaging Acquisition (WIA) in the list of services.
  • Right-click on it and select Properties.
  • Ensure the Startup type is set to Automatic and click Start if the service is not already running.

Set Scanner as Default:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP DeskJet 3632 and select Set as default printer.
  • Try scanning again.

Check Firewall/Security Software:

  • Temporarily disable any firewall or security software on your computer to see if they are blocking the scanner connection.

Try Another Scanning Application:

  • Use a different scanning application like Windows Fax and Scan or a third-party scanning software to see if the issue persists.

Uninstall and Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall all HP printer software.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Reinstall the printer software from the HP Support website.
