Hi @TheUsername,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see you're having trouble setting up the Network Folder in Quick Set on your HP 4303dw printer. Let’s try to figure this out!

A few questions to help narrow down the issue:

  • Are you using a local account or a domain account for authentication?
  • Have these credentials worked before, or is this the first time setting it up?
  • Have there been any recent changes to your network or account permissions?
  • Can you access the network folder manually from your computer using the same credentials?

Let me know, and we’ll take it from there! 😊

Take care and have a good day.

For additional information we have 3 HP 4303dw connected to the network. One of it is already working ( network folder for scanning ). And the shared folder is in NAS.

1. Are you using a local account or a domain account for authentication?

Answer: Sorry, I provided you with wrong info. I'm using the credential of the Printer ( username and password )

2. Have these credentials worked before, or is this the first time setting it up?

Answer: Yes

3. Have there been any recent changes to your network or account permissions

Answer: No

4. Can you access the network folder manually from your computer using the same credentials?
Answer: No, this credential is from the printer.

Hi @TheUsername,

The HP DeskJet 4303 is a basic printer that does not support network folder (SMB) scanning on domain networks.

Printer Limitation:

  • The HP DeskJet 4303 does not support direct scanning to network folders via SMB. You may need to use HP Smart or Windows Scan instead.

Domain Network Restrictions:

  • If the printer is on a domain network, there may be security policies blocking it from accessing shared folders.
  • Ask your IT admin if printer access to network folders is allowed.

 I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
