My printer scanner function worked fine until yesterday, then it began screwing up scans creating hundreds of pages that were repeats of the previous page. I tired calling for support but unbeknownst to me was I was directed to a third party site, not HP. I didn’t catch on until they wanted $250.00. I agreed, but after 3 hours on the phone, they couldn’t solve the problem. They had many rehearsed excuses. They removed and reinstalled my printer and software at least ten times to no avail. They kept blaming the scanner app saying it was a third party app.
I would never but another HP product ever, even if it was free. Their support is nothing but a scam to charge more than you paid for the printer in the first place. HP support sucks!!!

@JackBeliveau I'm deeply sorry for what happened.
As for scammers in the community:
Be alert for scammers who may be posing as HP support representatives, particularly those who claim to be “HP Helpdesk”.
Only call numbers from people who have a HP badge on their profile page.
If you think you have received a fake HP Support message, please report it to us by clicking on the blue "Report Inappropriate Content" button above the message in the Private Message portion of the Community.

HP cannot be held accountable for every scam. They go above and beyond trying to warn users and shut down these sites when they can. Sorry you got sucked in but some of the responsibility lies with you.
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.
