My HP printer has performed flawlessly since being purchased in 2004. However its firmware now appears to be corrupted.

Is it possible to re-flash the printer's firmware ?

Beneath the control board are 4 solder tabs accessible from the underside of the printer without the need to dismantle anything.

Could an HP service center reload the firmware ?
