I have an HP Officejet 6958 all-in-one which is about a year old and has been working fine until today.  Now it will not scan/copy from the ADF.  It will pull the originals through the document feeder, but will not "read" them. After the originals have gone through, I get an error message saying that "The document feeder was not able to pick up the original. Make sure the document feeder cover is closed completely...and try again."    I have cleaned all the rollers, and the ADF cover appears to be closed okay/completely.  I have unplugged and re-started the machine.  Any suggestions?

This seems like an hardware issue with the ADF mechanism. If you have tried all the steps mentioned in this document and the issue persists, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
