When I attempt to scan using the automatic document feeder, it will not pick up the image.  The documents feed, then I get a misfeed error (after they all fed).  I can use the flat bed fine, but that requires one page at a time.  It was working fine prior to this.  I have tried to restart the computer and printer to no avail.

To clarify, the papers do feed through the feeder, it just doesn't pick up or read the image off the papers.

Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.

 

I understand that the printer does not scan from the ADF.

 

I suggest that you clean the ADF glass strip next to the flat bed scanner glass and check.

 

If the issue still persists, please contact HP phone support from this link: www.hp.com/contacthp
You may select the country and type the product# of the unit and then follow the on-screen instructions to contact HP phone support.

OK, so I have no idea what happened or why this fixed my problem, but I was playing around with the dashboard settings and right clicked the "Save as PDF" button and there was an option to "Restore settings to factory default values" and I clicked on that and voila, everything works again.  Still not aware of ever changing anything, or noticing a setting on the dashboard that would affect the functionality, but that fixed it, so if you have this problem, may try that.
