We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

When sending a scan to a computer, the scanner will not feed from the document feeder.  If I have papers in the feeder, it still scans from the flat bed.

 

The web site suggests changing settings that can not be found in the settings proile.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 is not feeding documents from the document feeder tray when scanning, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

 

  • Check Feeder for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no obstructions or debris in the document feeder tray. Even a small piece of paper or debris can prevent the scanner from properly feeding documents.
  • Document Condition: Make sure that the documents you are trying to scan are in good condition. Straighten any bent edges or creases, and ensure that the paper is not too wrinkled.
  • Document Type and Size: Verify that the documents you are trying to scan meet the specifications for the document feeder. Some scanners have limitations on the type and size of documents that can be scanned using the feeder.
  • Scanner Settings: Check the scanner settings to ensure that it is set to use the document feeder. You may need to select the feeder option in the scanning software or on the printer control panel.
  • Update Drivers and Software: Make sure that you have the latest drivers and software installed for your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740. Check the HP website for any available updates.
  • Reset the Printer: Try resetting the printer by turning it off, unplugging it from the power source, waiting for a minute, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can sometimes address performance issues. Check the HP website for firmware updates for your specific printer model.
  • Scan from the Computer: Instead of initiating the scan from the printer control panel, try initiating the scan from your computer. Use the scanning software on your computer to see if it can successfully pull documents from the feeder.
