For some reason, my scan settings have changed and I am no longer able to duplex scan (double-sided) anymore. I used to have this feature. The ability to change the setting and switch back to 2-sided scanning on the scanner screen is greyed-out. I am running a Mac, but have been managing my printer/scanner from my HP account. Do I need software to connect and change the scanner settings back? Help!

I suggest you download the HP Easy Scan from this Link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hp-easy-scan/id967004861?mt=12 and also ensure the Printer Firmware is up to date

You can refer to this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168 for help with Firmware Updates

Next open the HP Easy Scan  > Open the Presets menu and from the Presets menu set the type as Document and the source as Document Feeder, then check the box to scan both sides.

You can refer to this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04788799

Keep me posted how it goes 😊
