Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I'm trying to set up the scanner on my HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw.  I've tried following Jay_G24's instructions but when I enter my IP address I don't receive an option to select a Scan tab.  I'm really not IT savvy at all (I barely figured out how to post this question) and would really appreciate somebody giving me instructions for dummies.  The main reason I bought the printer was for the scanner function.

Hi @Maz761,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

To assist better-

1) Are you able to make copies using the printer?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

3)What device are you using the printer with, a Windows computer, Mac, Android, or an iPhone?

4) Have you tried using a different browser?

Let me know!
