HP Color LaserJet MFP M277dw

HP Color LaserJet MFP M277dw Scan Prefix not sequencing

Firmware Datecode: 20201119

The last time this worked up to 2021-03-22. After that, I updated the firmware.

Filename iteration used to work with: "\\r2d2\Public\HP_Scans"

I have followed: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03953940

The user "printer" has read/write access to the directory:

2021-08-06 13_40_02-Window.png

Filename iteration used to work with: "\\r2d2\Public\HP_Scans", however seeing the case sensitivity issues from "‎07-13-2021", I changed the folders so they were all lowercase.

I then updated the printer's config to match.

  • \\r2d2\public\scans
  • \\10.0.1.36\public\scans

Both fail.

Something interesting is that the screen on the FPD just before hitting the "Scan" button used to show filename with a number. It no longer does that.

The same thing happens during "Scan to E-Mail" operations.

I believe this is definitively a firmware issue.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting issues in doing a scan to the network folder, follow these steps to fix the issue.

You might have to reset the printer and set up a scan to the network folder again to fix the issue.

Restore the factory-set defaults

1. On the product control panel, touch the Setup button.

2. Scroll to and touch the Service menu.

3. Scroll to and touch the Restore Defaults button, and then touch the OK button.

Follow the steps mentioned on page number 55 in this user guide to setup scan to network folder again:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
