HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw

I am using the HP Color LaserJet Pro M281fdw printer and I found there is some scanning issue. I am using the latest firmware with datecode of 20230822.

 

Note in the scanned image the whole line 223D, 22C7 is exceptionally large and distorted after scanning. I wish HP can review this and provide an update to the firmware

Check for Glass Smudges: Ensure the scanner glass and the document feeder glass are clean. Use a non-abrasive glass cleaner and a soft cloth to remove any smudges or debris that may affect scan quality.


Adjust Scanning Settings:
 

  • If available, try adjusting the scanning resolution or changing the scan type (e.g., color to grayscale or black and white) to see if it makes a difference.
     
  • Ensure that you're using the correct document size and format settings for your scan job.


Update Scanner Drivers:
 

  • Ensure that your scanner drivers on your computer are up-to-date. Go to HP's official website to check for any recent software updates or driver downloads for your printer model.


Firmware Consideration: Since your firmware is updated to the latest version as of 20230822, it's good to keep an eye out for any future firmware updates that might address specific scanning issues. You can regularly check for firmware updates via the printer's settings or on HP's support website.


Test with Different Documents: Try scanning different documents to determine if the issue occurs only with specific types of content or with certain documents.
