Good morning, Is anyone else having issues with their HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdn Printer? I set it up at the office and made sure firmware was updated. Printer is connected to internet via ethernet. Seems like everyday the printer needs to be manually restarted in order to use scan to email feature or to send out remaining print jobs that have been queued. Both features will work up until a certain point in the day and it seems like the only fix is to restart the printer which is cumbersome. I am using the latest driver for printer and Im just curious if anyone has a fix for this or have experienced the same thing?  (side note) I changed all printer sleep time/power settings to the max it lets me.

Hi @imfreakinout21,

 Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdn printer, particularly with the scan-to-email feature and queued print jobs, despite having updated firmware and using the latest drivers, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

Check Network Stability:

  • Ensure that the Ethernet connection to the printer is stable and not experiencing interruptions. A fluctuating or unreliable network connection can lead to communication issues.
  • Verify that the IP address assigned to the printer is static, and it's not changing dynamically.

Update Firmware:

  • Double-check that you have the latest firmware installed. If not, download and install the latest firmware from the HP support website.

Check Energy Settings:

  • Even though you mentioned adjusting sleep time/power settings, recheck to make sure that the settings are configured correctly. The printer might be going into a deep sleep mode, affecting its ability to respond to print and scan requests.

Review Email Settings:

  • Ensure that the email settings on the printer for scan to email are correctly configured. Double-check the SMTP server details, authentication settings, and port numbers.
  • If using secure email protocols (SSL/TLS), make sure that the printer settings match the requirements of your email provider.

Driver Issues:

  • Although you mentioned using the latest driver, consider reinstalling the printer driver. Uninstall the current driver, download the latest one from the HP website, and then reinstall it.

Print Queue Troubleshooting:

  • Check the print queue on the computer sending print jobs to the printer. Clear any stuck or pending print jobs.
  • Ensure that the print spooler service on the computer is running and functioning properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
