Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

This is for an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdn. I have 6 of these items that all behave the same. I did not but these at one goal. They are from different resellers 

When scanning from the top feeder ADF  (not the flatbed) the document comes up with a line. After many cleanings it can come right for one copy. This is the case with all other HP printers I have. It is frustrating. What do I do, Same output scanning from macbook, scanning to usb etc. I normally scan to email
