Hi everyone,
has anyone come across the following and is willing to share the solution?
we have a very strange problem with our HP Color Laserjet MFP M277dw printer, when setting configuration for the "Scan to Folder" functionality.
The printer does work as a network printer and i can browse to its web interface.
What it IS REFUSING TO do is to accept the login details so that it scans -as PDF - onto a network folder.
We have a dedicated account for this; it has permissions to the scan area:
1. test from the web interface fails;
2. when attempting a scan on the device, it fails too.
A. I then try my network account - which has unrestricted access - and again both attempts fail.
B. I have to type both passwords on notepad (to make sure i am typing either password correctly) paste onto the password box, and.. nothing..
C. Tried changing the IP address for a network path and nothing..
D. Tried switching back to network path.. nothing..
E. i then try to use both accounts to log into a computer and i can get in, and even browse to the required scan area but when i try to use either network account, i cannot scan..
F. I am now losing the will to live..
Please can anyone help us solve this conundrum?
Thank you
VE

- Are the devices connected in a Home or in a Work environment?
Here are the steps to Set Up the 'Scan to Network Folder'.
Please check if you have followed it correctly.
- Create/Select a folder on the computer to save the scanned documents.
- Right click on the folder and select properties
- Go to Sharing Tab > Advanced Sharing
- Select the checkbox 'Share this Folder'
- At the bottom of advanced sharing, click on permissions and give full access/full control
- Obtain the IP address on the printer by pressing the WiFi/Ethernet icon on the printer control panel.
- Open a web browser and Type the IP address into the Internet browser address line, and then press Enter to open the printer EWS.
- EWS page Opens.
- Go to Scan > Scan to Network Folder Set UP

- If you are in a work environment, enter the 'Domain name' and '/' followed by the username of the PC.
