New printer. Turn on the printer. It prints an alignment page. Put it on the glass to scan. THERE IS NO SCAN BUTTON ON THIS PRINTER! How does one scan the darned thing so the page is aligned and won't reprint every time the printer is turned on?

Hi there,

This solution still just prints out a copy of the scan. Surely I'm not supposed to print out another page when I scan the original printer alignment page that spat out?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Was the alignment scan done successfully?  If it was, then there should not be any alignment pages being printed unless the cartidges are changed again.

Thanks.

I had the same problem as above and loaded alignment page onto glass closed lid and pressed the color copy button.  It printed out a copy of the page.  So I tried again and hit the black copy button, same thing.  Is there another solution?  This is new set up and cartridges came with printer.  Could they have possibly already performed page alignment?  If so that would explain.  I understand that its not necessary to perform alignment again until new cartridges are loaded.

Can  you advise?

Thanks

Hi @gggirl ,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

The resource shows that you need to align the page immediately after it was printed, did you do that?

It should scan the page and not copy another page.  Watch the resource starting from time 15:17

Before scanning, the power button is blinking and it stops after it is scanned successfully.

Thanks.
