Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I'm running MAC/OS Big Sur 11.3.1 using HP Smart app version 1.7.1. My daughter is running some level of Catalina and we are both experiencing this issue. Running the SCAN option get Scanner issue, "A problem with scanner has been detected. Restart the printer, and then try again. If problem persists, visit the HP support website".

 

When I use the PREVIEW option it works fine. I can see the photos I want to scan. I also can't find the PRINT and SCAN DOCTOR trobleshooting feature for MACs

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

There's no Print and Scan Doctor for MAC/iOS.

 

Are you able to scan without using the HP Smart App like the Printer drives on your Computer?

 

Ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
