It is printing but not scanning

@Munish1, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I see that you are not able to scan. Do you get any errors? 

 

Let us try these steps:

 

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

 

Check the scanner bar functionality

 

Perform a visual test of the scanner mechanism to see if it is jammed.

  1. Remove any original documents or photos from the scanner glass.
  2. Lift the scanner lid slightly, and then press the Copy button or icon.

If the scanner light does not move or moves halfway or is not lit, the scanner mechanism is likely jammed/broken.

 

In this case, I've sent you a private message with further instructions to resolve this issue.

If the copy works fine, it means the hardware is fine. However, there is no printer driver available on the HP drivers page due to the age of the printer which is required for scanning.

 

Use a compatible scanning app to scan.

HP Scan and Capture app: Use this free app available from the Microsoft Store to scan photos or documents.

Go to Installing and Using HP Scan and Capture (Windows 10) for more information.

Windows Scan app: Use this Windows app to scan from most HP all-in-one printers.

Search Windows for Scan, and then click the Scan app in the list of results.

Windows Fax and Scan: Use this pre-installed tool to scan photos and documents.

Search Windows for fax, click Windows Fax and Scan in the list of results, and then click New Scan.
