HP MFP E77825dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Team

Need a hand...

I've installed an HP MFP E77825dn in an costumer.

Now, he needs to scan into a NAS Synology DS119j, but the device doesn´t "see" it .

Does it happen to anyone ? How can I fix it ?

Thanks in advance

Eduardo

Printer supports Digital Send

Digital Sending Standard Features

Scan to E-mail; Save-to-Network Folder; Save-to-USB drive; Send to Sharepoint; Send to FTP; Send to FTP; Send to LAN Fax; Send to Internet Fax; Local Address Book; SMTP over SSL; Blank Page Removal;Edge Erase; Auto Color Sense; Auto Crop To Content; Compact PDF; Auto Tonescale; Auto Orientation;Multi-Pick Detect; Auto Straighten; Auto Crop To Page

My overall knowledge of Laser printers is (more than) relatively sparse.

Following is an attempt to assist - I cannot judge whether the information will be useful in your situation.

What About Digital Send?

Digital Send generally means some of the setup for this can be accomplished using the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

EWS - Example - Scan-to-Network shown later in this message.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the NAS, set up the scan destination folder as "Shared" - this is important since Read/Write to that destination must be available.

On the computer on which the software will be used to manage / submit the scan to the folder, "map" that NAS location.

Provide a login / password to the NAS using an account that exists in the NAS.

NOTE:  Select any Drive Letter you like from the drop-down list - there is nothing magic about the drive letter shown in the examples...

On the Windows Computer...

Set the Destination for the Scan-to-Network (folder) scan in the software used to submit the job.

NOTE:

  • The following example reflects use of inkjet "Full Feature Software" > HP Scan.
  • If available, the equivalent "Full Solution" for your Laser Printer may be similar, at least to the extent that you can extrapolate the necessary information.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EWS Scan to Network is available as a setup for those printers that support Digital Send feature.

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Again, the example shows the setup for an OfficeJet Pro printer - your Enterprise level Laser printer EWS is likely different.

Hi,

In addition to the above steps, I would also suggest to try enabling SMB for your NAS and check if you may see any difference then:

https://www.synology.com/en-global/knowledgebase/DSM/help/DSM/AdminCenter/file_winmacnfs_win

With the latest printer firmware, your printing device supports SMB version 2 and not dependent on SMB version 1.

Ha!  I have an example image for smb - just didn't add it.

Honestly, I don't remember when I did not have smb enabled in Windows 10.

Even longer ago since we had an NAS by Synology.  Newer NAS now, and even that one is due for replacement.  Smiling.

Thanks for the reminder.
