We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy 5530 all in one printer. It's on network. I can print from my HP Envy m6 laptop. When I try to scan or copy a document the scanner freezes up. I reinstalled the driver but that does not help. When I ask it to scan or copy a document, the scanner bar travels from the left to the right but does not travel back to scan or copy the document.  Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the canning/ copying issue. 

 

Let's try these steps -

 

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds. 

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

I am having the same problem with my Envy 5530.  I have uninstalled, reinstalled, and run Print and Scan Dr about 10 times.

 

Print and Scan Dr can't get past the driver check or the printer status.  The other checks seems to be completed but the test scan doesn't work.
