Hi @LBewind ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering a frustrating issue with HP Easy Scan crashing on your MacOS Sonoma 14.3.1 system since the update to version 2.0.0.240214.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue:

  • Check System Requirements: Ensure that your MacOS version is compatible with HP Easy Scan 2.0.0. Sometimes, new updates may have specific requirements that your system needs to meet.
  • Check for Updates: Make sure that your MacOS Sonoma 14.3.1 is fully updated. Sometimes, new updates from Apple can resolve compatibility issues with third-party software.
  • Check for HP Easy Scan Updates: Check if there are any updates available for HP Easy Scan beyond version 2.0.0.240214. HP releases updates to address stability issues or compatibility problems.
  • Check System Logs: Look into the system logs to see if there are any error messages or crash reports related to HP Easy Scan. This might provide more specific information about why the application is crashing.
  • Alternative Scanning Software: Since scanning works via HP Smart, you can continue using it as an alternative until the issue with HP Easy Scan is resolved.
  • Reinstall HP Easy Scan: Completely uninstall HP Easy Scan from your system, including any associated files or preferences, and then reinstall it. Sometimes, a fresh installation can resolve issues caused by corrupted files or configurations.
  • Check for Known Issues: Look for any known issues or compatibility problems with HP Easy Scan on MacOS Sonoma 14.3.1. HP's support website or community forums might have information about common issues and possible solutions.

HP Easy Scan is also crashing on my MacOS Monterey 12.7.3 since the last HP update.

I used their support via whatsapp. After more than an hour of concersation, they gave me a phone number. They did not understand the question at all despite the fact that I had provided all the data including screenshots. However, it was clear. Easy Scan does not work with Macos 14.3.1. The help via Whatsapp was worthless.bf795bb3-4925-4550-94ec-61c970b974e4.jpgc00537e6-b656-4c05-8ee6-44eba17c4225.jpgae559713-cd15-4e70-8d73-f8cd197c2180.jpg

Same issue as LBewind.

Only, I am running:

macOS Sonoma 14.3.1 on a MacBook Pro

HP OfficeJet Pro 9014

-------------

Since EasyScan was updated to version 2.0.0 the program crashes every time I start EasyScan.
EasyScan, all firmware and MacOS are fully updated.

- EasyScan has been removed and reinstalled.

- macOS has been removed and reinstalled.

Nothing helps!

=> CONCLUSION:  HP Easy Scan version 2.0.0 is NOT compatible to macOS 14.3.1

I had the same problem with Sonoma 14.2.1. I uninstalled everything from HP (including the library) . Then I used HP Easy Start to reinstall everything. HP Easy Scaan now works properly again.

As I mentioned, everything has been updated but Easy Scan 2.0 crashes every time. The fault is clearly with Easy Scan, which is not compatible with MacOS Sanoma 14.3.1.

Same issue here.

As a workaround I restored old version 1.10 from TimeMachine. And disabled automatic updates for Apps. This worked for me.

But what a bad support from HP!!
