Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I called HP Support.  I have HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 and Apple Mac OS/ Sonoma 14.3.1.

They video conferenced with me and in the end, advised me to scan from the HP Smart app. Reminder: if you like to use the document feeder, be sure to go to the option for "SOURCE" and select "document feeder."  HP will not be amending EasyScan for Apple users. The HP person I spoke to asserts that Apple is continually updating and as a result EasyScan is not and will not be fully functional for Apple users.

One other possible solution if you still want to use EasyScan: Opt to save to printer (and then select PDF) from the EasyScan I note that from EasyScan, I can select send>printer>...and THEN select PDF.  At that point, you can name the file and it will save as a pdf to your desktop.

I am not sure but I think saving to file creates smaller files, that are more easily up-loadable. We will have to use HPSmart to "save to file."

If you can't find your HP Smart App on your Mac or Macbook-use your finder and add its icon  to your dock.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!

HP SAYS WE MUST USE THE WORKAROUND.  I AGREE, IT'S CLUMSY.

They would be the first to warn Apple users that the compatibility of their products with Apple operating systems is not guaranteed.

Good to hear about the work-around. Thank you!

One would think HP would be telling Apple users about it, eh?

I'm curious about this HP Smart app. Is it a decent app? Why do they have both HP Smart and HP Easy Scan?

HP Recommended

HP Easy Scan was simple.   HP Smart has advertisements and lots of options I personallly will never use.  My guess is as good as yours. Screenshot 2024-03-01 at 06.46.46 PM.png

That really sucks!  HP does not seem to care about Apple users.  I am archiving many documents and heavily used the editing features straightening and cropping.  Saving to PDF is not a good option for me

How can we revert to the previous version? I could not find it anywhere online.  That version worked fine for me, using Sonoma 14.0

You might try calling HP tech support to see if they will give you a link to the old version. Please let us know if you are successful. Even though I can do what I need to do by following the work around, I would like to revert as well. There are occasions when I need to do some editing. I realize there are work arounds there as well, but they are not quick/easy/convenient. HP Easy Scan was (WAS) all three.

How do I reach them?  The only option I found was to pay for support!  Do you or LaurenHines4 have a phone number you can provide?

I just tried to find a number... nope. Hopefully Laurenhines4 will read this and reply.
