HP Easy Scan for MAC does not save scans after update

My workaround: I restored the old version 1.10 from TimeMachine and stopped automatic Updates for Apps. At least I can scan again.

Great idea!    But...I don't back up applications.  Is there any way you could upload version 1.10?

I'm afraid that won't work for you for some reasons:

1.  It is not a package but just a collection of files and directories I found to restore.
2. I have a M1 MacBook Pro - it won't work with other Macs
3. My printer is a ' HP LaserJet Pro MFP277dw' - it might not work with other printers.

So sorry, I don't think I can help.

At least you've come up with an alternative that beats the HP Dumb I meant HP Smart app.

1) Invoke HP Easy Scan

2) Select Send in lower right

3) Send all items to printer

4) In lower left dialog, select PDF, save as PDF

This works!!!!!

I do plug in an external HD occasionally and use Time Machine to back up my iMac, but I have never used the feature to restore something. Can I go to my Time Machine backup files and just pull the files for Easy Scan, or will using it  completely rewrite my iMac to the state it was in when I last backed it up?

Hi Nochoker!

What I did: I was uninstalling Version 2 using "AppCleaner". This showed me these files to uninstall:

(Picture shows current Version with old version 1.10)

I then uninstalled them and restored these Files and directories one by one from a backup from early January.  This worked fine for me.

HP Easy Scan 2.0 is broken.  Please fix it.  I have the same issue, MacOS is Sonoma 14.4.1 &  HP Easy Scan is 2.0.  It will scan a document, but once you try to edit or save the document, HP Easy Scan crashes.

Since the HP Easy Scan app update in Feb 2024,  I can no longer save a scan to a PDF.  Please, HP, fix this bug because indications here are that it is affecting myriad people. Not a good reflection on to HP. Be the heros and get us all up and running again with our scanner saves.
