HP Stream and HP Envy 5032

I have a HP Envy 5032 and I have scanned with it before.

Today I have tried scanning via the printer which says:

"One or more of the following problems has prevented the scan from being completed:

  • The connection to the computer has been lost.
  • The scan application on the computer is currrently in use.
  • the OCR application is not installed on the computer

Check the computer for more information.

When I try scanning from the HP  App on the laptop it says:

"Scanning is currently unavailable. Please select Home to check that your printer is connected and active. Once Connected, return here to scan"

The printer is connected and active. I have run the HP print doctor and everything is up to date it says there are no problems.

Has anyone else got any suggestions?

You can double check following things:

  1. Check USB cable or Wi-Fi connection is working fine
  2. Check whether the device is listed in Device Manager > Printers & Drivers
  3. Uninstall the driver software, restart your machine and install driver software again
  4. Check the indication lights are showing something e.g. error lights
  5. If you are USB cable than change USB port and try again
