Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Envy 5530 Printer, Scanner, Copier
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Two days ago I was scanning away with a USB connection. We removed the wired connections due to needing the space and resumed yesterday. Since yesterday I have been unable to use the USB connection.

Trouble Shooting USB Connection:

1. Replaced cable. I know the cable works as well as it is used on another printer/scanner.

2. Tried different USB port on laptop.

3. Attempted CMD prompt (Run as Administrator) sfc /scannow -- First run through made some repairs and the second found no issues.  This was prior to reinstall and did not fix the USB connection. Then re-ran after reinstall of drivers and HP Smart. Results below.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

4. Uninstalled HP Envy Driver and Reinstalled HP Envy  Driver, recommended version.

5. Uninstalled and reinstalled HP Smart

Now when I try to scan via the Network there is no option in the driver menu for scanning (see reference image below) so I have to use the HP Smart, which is not as intuitive as the built in Driver Scanner is, which can separate out multiple photos during processing.

And when I try to use the USB option again it says printer not found (see reference image below).

I do not understand how during setup the setup wizard was able to check the HP Envy's status via the USB cable as the network was not yet connected but I can no longer connect via the cable.  Unless the scanner retains and will utilize any available network connection information in hopes of the Setup Wizard being able to see the printer?

Initially the HP Smart menu also said the printer was offline. Only after I opened the driver via Network Connection does it now say Printer Online. I am not sure how else to proceed (see reference image below).  The second page says the printer is not connected.

I appreciate any assistance. Thank you!
