If your HP ENVY 5530 printer can print from a PC and wireless devices but is unable to make copies or scan, try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Basic Troubleshooting Steps:

Check for Error Messages:

  • Ensure there are no error messages displayed on the printer control panel and resolve any that appear by following the on-screen instructions.

Ensure Printer is Powered On:

  • Verify that the printer is powered on. The power button should be lit white.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  • Wait a minute, then plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer. This can often resolve temporary issues.

Copying Issues:

Check Copy Settings:

  • From the Home screen on the printer display, select Copy.
  • Ensure you have selected the correct settings, such as paper size and type, quality, and the number of copies.
  • Ensure the original document is loaded correctly on the scanner glass.

Start Copy Operation:

  • Load the original print side down on the right front corner of the glass.
  • Select the copy options and then press Black or Color to start the copy operation.
