HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer

Hello there, I took receipt of my new HP Envy 6032e printer today. Nice looking machine. However I was quickly aware that the scanner bar constantly blinks regardless of whether the scanner cover is up or not. I can even hear the electronics slight pulsing as it blinks with the cover shut.

I called HP support and they told me the light goes off when the lid it shut.... however to prove otherwise I turned off the lights in my room so it was pitch black and I can just make out through the cover that the scanner light is still flashing away.

hp support - please don't paste the KB link to the generic 'what do flashing lights mean' as I'm not referring to the lights at the front of the printer... this is referring to the scanner bar. Also, just because the printer is not reporting any issue does not mean there is not a problem.

I personally think something is a miss here and when I compare to a previous Envy (albeit it a few years older) the scanner bar does no blink on idle. Surely this blinking will shorten the life of a component(s). Happy to be proved wrong of course....
