How do I use this scanner and printer without ever logging in?

PS.  This item is a few months old and doesn't print.  I've only ever printed 5-6 pages from it and it looks like its out of ink.  HP is about to lost my business to Brother forever.  Flawed software, default to login required to use.  App store BLOCKED from leaving reviews.  You guys are doing EVERYTHING wrong

If the printer has not been used for a period of time, the ink might have dried out.

How long is too long?  Unknown - perhaps two weeks or longer.  ?

True - HP Smart requires that you sign in using your HP account credentials.

The requirement to sign in using your HP Account credentials is not likely to be reversed or removed from HP Smart.

What else?

In particular, this is true for Windows >>

In nearly every case, using HP Smart is optional.

That means, if you object to -- or cannot use -- the HP Smart application for any reason, you need not use it.

There are generally other solutions for print and scan operations, including installing the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software available for supported printers and supported Operating Systems / version.  No sign-in.

True - you should use products that are inclusive of your needs and what you want.
