We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

We have an HP LaserJet Pro M479fdw that is connected to a Windows 10 PC via USB and it will not scan.   It will make copies with no problems so I know it is not the scan mechanism.   

 

We have tried using the HP Scan software and I have even gone directly to the Printer in the Control Panel and tried to do a scan by right clicking on it and it also fails.   I have tested the connection and it passes.  I have run the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it fails when it gets to the WIA scan section.   I have checked the WIA service as well as the services that it depends on and they are all running and set to start Automatically.

 

I even tried removing the printer and all software and reinstalled it after a reboot and it is still not working.  Does anyone have anything else I can try?
