I recently updated the software and the drivers of my HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w but unfortunaltey I'm not more able to scan. It seems that scanner works mec

hanically but the image of the scanned sheet does not appear in the preview and the "save" button does not activate. How can I solve the issue?

Please consider I'm not an IT specialist, please provide simple explanation..

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Try these steps first:

  1. shut down printer via on/off switch
  2. switch off the router
  3. shut down the computer
  4. wait about 60 sec.
  5. switch on the router, wait until the router has completely initialized itself again
  6. Switch on the printer, wait until the printer has finished its initialization
  7. switch on computer, log in (with admin rights) and wait about 10 sec.

... and now everything's working again?

 

If not, then install this software package.

Important: Expand all < be sure to read.

thanks for the suggestions but even after installing the SW package the same problem is still persistent.

Could this be due to the new drivers?

adopt this solution here: Software installation fails for Color LaserJet 

The steps are the same. You have to download this software package first, this is important!

Here again the software link: HP Universal Scan - Full Feature Software and Driver 

Reminder:

  • Integrated HP OCR Imaging Library
  • Removed references to ReadIRIS from HP Scan Assistant


If this installation does not work, a "Clean Installation" must be performed.
