We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Currently having an issue with a M426fdn.  It's throwing either a scanning error 13 or 17 when powering up.  I tried multiple power cycles and no luck.

Hello Christopher_Y,

 

For these type of issues we recommend to check some details:

  • Make sure the unit is connected directly to the power outlet, as sometimes any intermediate device like UPS or power strip can degrade the amount of current your printer receives at some given moment.
  • You can perform a power drain: turn the printer off, unplug all cables (USB, ethernet, phone cords, power cord). With everything unplugged you press the Power button and keep it pressed for about 60 seconds. After that you reconnect power cable and turn your printer on. After that you can try to make a copy for testing.
  • If your printer is connected to the network, you can reach its IP address, then open a browser on your computer and enter the printer's IP to gain access to the Embedded Web Server. Under Tools> Reports> Event log you will see a list of all the events and their related codes. With those you can look on the internet for their meaning and more precisely can determine how to proceed.
  • Make sure your printer has the latest Firmware version installed.

If you have tried all the above and problem persists, most likely the scanner portion of your printer needs replacement.
