HP Laserjet Pro MFP M281 fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I  have a  HP Laserjet Pro MFP M281 fdw

and i would like to copy from 2 sides to 2 side.

If i see the menu on the printer i can see i can copy from 1 side to 1 side or from 1 side to 2 sides but ther is not the possibility to copy form 2 sides to 2 sides.

I know it should be done just by a manual operation but as it is possibile to scan 2 sides (by a manual operation) i think would be really easy , at the same way, to copy fron 2 sides to 2 sides .

so how can i do?

thanks a lot

Hi,

The printer supports two-sided printing only, it cannot copy both sides of an original.

You may select 1 Sided > 2 Sided Printing on the copy menu and copy from the flatbed glass, then the printer will guide to reload the other side of the original into the glass.

Thanks a lot for your answer , i understand i can not automatically  copy from 2 sides to 2 sides  by default

but

such as HP developed the 2 sides manual scan option for muli pages (using the HP scan program on my pc),

wouldn't be really easy to add the same option also to the printer's firmwire for the copy ?

thanks

I just purchased this copier October 2019 based on the fact that it prints and copies 2-sided. No where did it say on the sales information that it wouldn't copy 2-sided from 2-sided. I replaced an old MFP printer/copier that cost half the price and could copy & scan 2-sided to 2-sided. For me this is a deal breaker! I use a Canon at client's that's easily 10 years old and it turned out after purchase it wouldn't copy 2-sided to 2-sided. It wouldn't even scan 2-sided to 2-sided so the only way I could get multiple sets of a 20 page document 2-sided document was to copy  the whole thing 1-sided, then insert every other page, and then copy 1-sided to 2-sided for the number of sets that I needed. What a waste of time and paper. It also couldn't scan 2-sided to 2-sided, just like this one. It's like the dark ages. So, I'm very happy with the rest of its performance. I'm going to try and return it.
