Hi  @rancuvfal

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand you would like to scan at a higher resolution on your HP Laser MFP 135w Printer, and I will try to help you with this.

To better assist you, could you kindly confirm the below details:

  • Is the printer connected via USB or wireless?
  • Does the 300 DPI limit appear when scanning from the computer, or when using the printer's scan function?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Open the scanning software you are using and check whether an Advanced Settings or More Options menu is available.
  2. Verify that the scan mode is set to Photo or Document (High Quality), as some scan profiles limit the available resolution settings.
  3. Remove the printer software completely and reinstall the latest Full Feature software package if available for your model.
  4. Try scanning from a different application, such as the HP Smart app or Windows Scan, and check whether higher DPI options become available.
  5. Ensure the printer firmware is up to date.

Please note that the maximum selectable scan resolution can vary depending on the software being used and the scan source. Additionally, kindly refer to the following HP Community document, which discusses scanning at resolutions higher than 300 DPI on the HP Laser 135w and may provide helpful guidance - Click here

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
