HP MFP M281fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My "new to me" HP MFP M281fdw will not automatically start the sheet feeder when I try to scan from the feeder. Scanning from the touchscreen only triggers the bed scanner. I can get into Windows Settings to trigger the feeder process, but that is cumbersome. I assume it should work automatically like every other HP All In One I've ever owned, and there have been quite a few. Is there a firmware upgrade? I'm using HP Smart, so I assume the most up to date drivers are installed. What's up with this, HP? I see that there are numerous other customers with the same problem, and it's not a reset issue.

Hi @helpothers,

I'd like to help!

If you have placed documents on the ADF and the scanner bed, please remove the documents from the scanner bed and then try scanning from the printer screen.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
