HP Mobile Fax not working

Trying to use HP Mobile Fax for the first time (since buying HP8040e 6?yrs ago. The Mobile Fax tile shows in my HP Smart app, but it just sits as a blank screen. I've reset the app, and made sure the app is current. Any ideas?

Wow - Bad timing.  😒

HP Mobile Fax should work -- and might work.

It's rather great when it does work, in fact.

We do have a bunch of recent customer reports that Mobile Fax has not worked for a while (days at this writing).

The current source of the problem with Mobile Fax might well be Mobile Fax.

Unfortunately, at this writing, I am not aware of a solution.

The problem with Mobile Fax has been reported to HP.

That said,

Things change quickly -- perhaps search the Community for an Agent or Expert answer that resolves your particular issue.

It's worth checking and checking again. 

HP will release a solution and we want to be ready.

If you wish to do so, this might be a good time to move from HP Smart to its replacement, HP App.

Will installing and using HP App help now?

Perhaps not -- On the other hand, if the issue is anything related to the start code, staying on the latest version of an application, an app that can be updated when / if needed, might be the key to success.

HP is a wrapper that combines a Devices menu similar to HP Support Assistant with the features and options in the HP Smart application.

The HP App can be found in the App Store: Microsoft Store 

Look for the HP App under the single name "HP" 

Make sure your choice is sourced from HP, Inc.

At some point, perhaps even now, HP Smart will no longer be available in the  Microsoft Store  .

There are at least two possible consequences to this:

• Were there a version fix for the reported HP Smart "Scan - Save - Off-Center" bug, it can be more difficult to actually obtain a fixed version of the HP Smart app.
• Any constant request to update HP Smart is perhaps because the app cannot be updated through the conventional means.   There are caveats to that comment, none of which matter in context.
