Good evening,

 

I have run the HP Doctor several times but is gets stuck on - 'cartridges depleted - replace cartridges'.   

 

I am trying to scan documents - so I don't see why this function appears to be disabled as a result of my colour ink cartridges being depleted.  I have spent over an hour trying to see if there is a work around -  no joy.  

 

As I mainly use this printer for scanning and the odd bit of printing it does seem odd  that although the Black Ink cartridge is new and only the colour cartridges are depleted -that it won't scan or even print a simple black ink document. 

 

Guidance on resolving this problem would be most welcome.

Unless the cartridges are replaced the printer cannot function or perform any task.
