HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One Printer series

I have a HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-In-One Printer. Whenever I try to scan a document using the "Scan" button, and then "Computer" to be able to send it to my laptop, it gets 3/4 of the way through the first page, freezes, and then cancels the scan. Then a box pops up on my laptop that says "unable to connect to printer", and I go through the steps for the Hp Print and Scan Doctor. When I go through those steps, it eventually says that it's unable to solve the problem.

I can still scan by using the "Scan to E-mail" application, but not the normal scan feature, so it doesn't make sense to me that it would scan one way but not another. My laptop and printer are both connected wirelessly to our secure home network. I have checked to make sure the printer is connected to the internet, and to my laptop.

I use the scan feature frequently for work purposes, so having to scan with the e-mail feature is inconvenient and takes much longer. Any ideas??

Hi @MW123,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are having issues while scanning from your HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

Now please upgrade the printer firmware. If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this website.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to know whether the printer can make a "Photocopy" or not.

Place a document face down on the scanner glass and press the copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
