We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

For the last few months our HP OfficeJet 3830 will randomly scan and then after it scans it says something about "sending". This has me concerned that someone is maliciously connecting to our printer/scanner trying to capture anything we may have left on the scanner. 

 

I've checked to make sure the printer is up to date and it is. 

 

Worth mentioning is we're subscribers to HP instant ink monthly.

 

How or where can I check what is going on to cause this and how do I disable it?

To assist you better, is the printer connected to a private network?

Only those who have access to this network can access the printer. Check the connectivity.

 

Also, go to Setup > Network > Turn off wifi-direct

Thanks for your reply, Kumar. I don't have those settings within "Setup". 

 

What I have on my HP OfficeJet 3830 is

Setup > Network Setup > (but no wifi-direct option)

 

I also have a 

Setup > Web Services > Remove Web Services option but if I remove that it says Instant Ink will no longer work and we subscribe/use that.

 

Do you have any other recommendations? I've just been keeping the printer off until we need to use, which is not too convenient!
