Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

OfficeJet 6950
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using HP OfficeJet 6950.

Everytime I scan using document feeder the space above the objects are removed. Example I want to scan an 8.5x11 inches (letter size) paper and the items on the source paper starts about 3 inches from the top edge of the paper. The scanned output has no space on the top edge. The object that is supposedly 3 inches from the top edge of the source paper appeared to start from the very top edge on the scanned document.

Settings are all 8.5x11 inches, PDF. I tried experimenting on different settings but the scanned document is still the same.

I do not have this problem when using flatbed scanner. Everything appears the same from the source paper compared to the scanned document.

Please help. Thank you!

Thank you for your help. I appreciate it. Turns out there is no problem with the scanner.

The thing with my scanner is everytime it scan using ADF it does not scan as 8.5x11 (even if my settings say so). It scan whatever content it can detect on the paper. If I have a 4x6 size content on an 8.5x11 paper it will scan only the 4x6 content then put it in a 8.5x11 inch paper. The problem is if there is a blank space on top of the 4x6 size content that blank space is removed every time I save it to PDF. The 4x6 content will start at the very top of the 8.5x11 paper everytime I save it on PDF.

UNLESS I use the "Manage Images" function. Where I scan expand the scanned content up to 8.5x11 paper and assign the 4x6 content at the very middle (vertical and horizontal) of the 8.5x11 paper. It is very tasking if I scan multiple pages say 50 pages and then manage the images individually.

I guess what I want with a scanner is just to scan the paper as is without any image managing or whatever. You know the simple home/school uses. Scan the whole 8.5x11 paper whatever size the content is and save it to PDF exactly as it scanned.

Once again thank you!

@bglorania,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that when you scan from ADF it is leaving a 3-inch margin on the top.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the printer was working fine?
  • Are you facing the same issue when you make a copy using the ADF?
  • From which application/software are you scanning?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the printer firmware and check if it resolves the issue. Follow the steps in the below article update the printer firmware.

https://hp.care/2KmxV1o

If you continue to face the issue, I am sending you a private message with instructions. Please perform the steps to reset the printer to factory settings and perform the steps and check if it resolves the issue.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
