Hi @DonnaA4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you would like to scan documents or images from your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e to your MacBook Pro, you can follow these step-by-step instructions:

Load the Document

  • Place the document or photo you want to scan on the scanner glass. You should position it print-side down according to the guides around the glass.

Open the HP Smart App

  • On your MacBook Pro, ensure you have the HP Smart app installed. If not, download it from the Mac App Store or from the HP website.
  • Open the HP Smart app.

Select Scan

  • In HP Smart, find and select the "Scan" option.

Configure Scan Settings

  • You can configure the scan settings such as resolution, file type, and destination folder before proceeding.
  • Adjust the settings to your preference. You can choose between color or black & white, select the file format (e.g., PDF, JPEG), and choose the directory where you want to save the scanned document.

Perform the Scan

  • Once you have chosen your settings, click on the "Scan" button to initiate the scanning process.

Review and Save your Scan

  • After the scan completes, a preview will appear on your screen.
  • You can make adjustments if needed and then save the document to your designated folder on your MacBook Pro.

Take care and have an amazing day!
