Hello,

I'm using an HP Desktop on windows-10 and an HP Printer All-In-One  OfficeJet Pro 6970.

I'm able to print from my desktop to my printer.

I'm able to scan from my printer to my computer, the image is sent to my desktop.

But, since I have change my Wifi for a new one I'm not able anymore to scan from the "HP OfficeJet Pro 6970" application on my HP desktop.

The "HP Print and Scan Doctor" has report a driver check problem.

What can I do ?

Best regards Alain

Hi @AlainMel,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that you seems that the issue with scanning from the HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 application on your desktop may be related to the recent change in your Wi-Fi network. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Verify Network Connection:

  • Ensure that both your HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 printer and your Windows 10 desktop are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Double-check the network settings on your printer to confirm it is connected to the new Wi-Fi network properly.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Since you’ve already used the HP Print and Scan Doctor, make sure you run it again after ensuring the network settings are correct. The tool helps diagnose and fix connectivity issues with your printer.

Update Printer Software:

  • Ensure that the HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 printer drivers and software on your computer are up-to-date. You can check for updates using the HP Support Assistant or by visiting the HP website.

Reinstall the Printer Software:

  • Remove any existing printer software from your computer.
  • Download the latest version of the printer software and drivers from the HP website and install it.
  • This process can help resolve any software conflicts that might have arisen due to the change in Wi-Fi.

Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings:

  • Sometimes, firewalls and antivirus software can block communication between the printer and the computer. Make sure these programs are not preventing the scan function. You can temporarily disable them to test if they're the cause.

Network Configuration:

  • If your printer was set up with a static IP address, ensure that it has the correct IP address for the new network. You might have to reconfigure this setting.

Use Web Services:

  • Enable Web Services on your printer and try using HP’s cloud-based features, which might bypass local network issues.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hello,

Verify Network Connection -->  I'm able to Print from my HP desktop to my HP Printer with my new Wifi and I was able to scan directly from my Printer and then send back to my Desktop without any physical cable.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor --> Yes, I have run it,  there was a problem with the Drivers Check, Scan Doctor was not able to resolve the issue.  I think it's not supported from HP anymore.

Update Printer Software -->  The firmware of my printer is up to date.

Reinstall the Printer Software --> I did that 2 times,  same problem.

Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings --> Nothing has changed according to Firewall or Antivirus since 3 years.

Network Configuration -->  I never configured my printer with a static IP address.  But, I cannot garantee that there is a place into the HP software where they keep my old WIFI name VIDEOTRON4965  and now it's  Helix_Alain.

Use Web Services -->  Do you have any documentation about this ?

Best regards,  Alain

Hello,

I have found an article from the HP Support web pages,  the recommandation is to download and install the "HP Smart".   With this application the SCAN functionality is working fine,  conclusion it's not an hardware problem with my printer.

The problem is related to the other windows application  "HP OfficeJet Pro 6970"  that I have already installed previously, but the problem occure when I have changed my Wifi network.

My problem is I prefer the interface of "HP OfficeJet Pro 6970"  but I really don't know what is going on,

Best regards, Alain
