Same thing here - I uninstalled Easy Scan and now cannot install it,  running Mac 10.13.6.  I was able to open the scan function through utilities and it works in the most archaic form. Easy Scan was just...easier, and allowed multiple document scans at once.  Please bring back a legacy version of it for the older OS.

Hi, this is going to be quick. I have the same printer and same computer.  Easy scan was working great up until couple months ago. Then I I noticed it wasn't in the app store anymore so I figured it was discontinued. I downloaded HP Smart, started using it was a little more complicated than the easy scan but it worked. Then a few weeks ago HP Smart stopped working. The printer and computer were not connecting. So I tried to connect a hard wire from the printer to the computer and it worked. Easy scan even works!

Your problem will be solved if you use a hard wire from the printer to the computer. And easy scan will even work again.

Use a hard wire connected from the back of the printer to your MacBook. Easy scan will even work again.

Whenever I scan I need to connect the cable  from the  printer to the computer. It doesn't let me connect with the Wi-Fi anymore.  The cable is connected to the back of the printer, it's a small square port. The other end is a standard HDMI connection that connects to my computer. It works perfectly. Just no Wi-Fi

Unfortunately this does NOT solve my problem as my computer is in a different room from the printer -- I need to be able to wirelessly send scans from the printer without having to cart my computer around. :o(

Interestingly this does work.  Direct connection of printer to my Mini enables scanning through normal Image Capture, but when the printer is hooked up to my network, the scanner is not recognized.  This has to be a driver error.
